Island Health is working with ZRG Partners in seeking an accomplished, visionary healthcare leader to serve as Chief, Ambulatory Services (CAS). Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, this role oversees all ambulatory, clinic, and wellness service lines, ensuring excellence in operational performance, patient experience, quality outcomes, and community engagement.

Strategic & Operational Leadership
Lead all assigned ambulatory and outpatient service areas, ensuring alignment with Island Health’s mission and strategic goals.
Drive operational excellence by optimizing access, quality, and efficiency.
Collaborate with executive peers (CEO, CMO, CNO, CFO, CIO) to develop and execute strategic initiatives that enhance patient care, growth, and financial performance.
Champion performance improvement and regulatory compliance across clinics and wellness programs.
Financial & Business Management
Oversee operational and capital budgets for assigned areas.
Implement cost-effective processes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Develop and evaluate business plans, partnerships, and service expansions that align with organizational goals.
Talent & Culture Leadership
Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leadership teams.
Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and highly engaged culture.
Ensure performance management, development planning, and engagement metrics are achieved.
Community & Physician Collaboration
Build strong relationships with medical staff, community leaders, and strategic partners.
Represent Island Health’s ambulatory services on internal and external committees.
Serve as a visible ambassador of Island Health in the community.
Master’s degree required in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (MBA, MHA, or equivalent).
Demonstrated success leading multi-site operations, business development, and quality improvement.
Strong financial acumen, regulatory knowledge, and team-building ability.
Excellent communication, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
Completion of NIMS Training (ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700) within 6 months of hire.

Island Hospital is 43 bed acute care hospital. Each patient room is single occupancy and all of the acute care rooms have a ceiling lift, and private bathroom with a shower. We have six Specialty Care Clinics and five Family Care Clinics providing specialty services that include: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Sleep Wellness Center, Behavioral Health, Wound Care, and Sleep Wellness. Our inpatient and outpatient services include: Acute Care, Emergency Services, Birthing Center, Surgical Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy. We also support our community by offering Community Education classes and various screenings.
